Laser Therapy in Norwalk

What is laser therapy?

Laser treatment (also known as phototherapy or low level laser therapy) involves the application of light to injured tissues in order to promote tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and decrease pain. It is especially effective for injuries or pain involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, and joints.

How does it work?

The laser is placed directly over the injured area for 30 seconds to several minutes, depending on the dose of the treatment and the size of the area being treated. During the treatment, photons of light pass from the laser, through the skin, to the target tissues. These photons interact with light-sensitive parts of the cell to speed up the healing process, reduce inflammation, and decrease pain.

Is it safe?

We use a Multi Radiance Medical laser, which has been shown to be both extremely safe and effective. This laser has FDA Clearance as well as CE certification.
