Chiropractic Care

Unlike conventional medication, which takes an outside-in approach through drugs and invasive and risky surgery to treat injuries, we correct the actual cause of the issue with natural chiropractic care.

With our natural care, you don’t have to resort to dangerous drugs or surgery to alleviate your discomfort. Dr. Brown can restore the normal alignment of your joints. In turn, your pain will be relieved. You may also feel greater energy and have a better outlook on life.

If you’re suffering from any of the following, chiropractic may be your ideal solution:

An Array of Effective Techniques

Dr. Brown is skilled in many techniques thanks to his years in practice. The methods he may use include Gonstead, Cox Flexion-Distraction, Diversified, cervical and lumbar traction, soft tissue therapy, and extremity adjusting. If you prefer an instrument adjustment, the Activator® is available. We’ll make sure that you’re comfortable and satisfied with your care, adapting it as needed.

Additional Modalities to Help Your Healing

When appropriate, we may add different types of therapy to your chiropractic care. These include the following:

This type of therapy works on acute and chronic problems to improve the tissue that is damaged to try and heal and repair it faster and reduce edema, swelling, and pain. Cold laser therapy also can help the injury heal much faster than it would without the treatment.

We have a low voltage muscle stim, which is a muscle stimulation type of modality that increases the vascularity to damaged muscle tissue to help it heal, feel better, and reduce swelling quicker.

This therapy uses a faradic current that goes deep into the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. HVPGS (High-voltage pulsed galvanic stimulation) helps the injured areas relax and heal. This modality also increases nutrient delivery to the injured area which expedites the healing process and helps the patient get better, faster. High voltage galvanism is very effective in treating acute conditions such as those sustained in car accidents.

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a kind of traction that may help alleviate back pain. This therapy works by stretching the spine gently which alters the force and position of the spine. This change removes pressure from the spinal discs-gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine-by creating negative pressure in the disc.

Spinal decompression can help bulging or herniated discs to retract, taking pressure off nerves and other spinal structures. When this occurs, it can help promote the movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the discs for them to heal.

Cervical and lumbar traction is used to decompress the joints and allow the nerves to relax and heal. Traction is a gentle stretching of either the neck or the back with a specifically designed table.

Cervical traction alleviates pain and pressure by gently decompressing the neck, creating expansion, and eliminating compression.

Lumbar traction removes nerve interference by distracting the segments around the nerve root to pull pressure off the nerves and decrease pressure and irritation on those segments. Lumbar traction helps to relieve nerve damage, pain, and neuralgia from a condition such as a disc protrusion (bulge) or a prolapse (herniation).

With this therapy, we can distract the disc back into the joint space, to where it’s supposed to be and take pressure off the nerves that are affected.

This type of therapy uses soundwaves to relieve deep pain in soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. It also increases nutrient absorption to expedite healing. Ultrasound is very effective for many injuries including automobile accident injuries.

Therapeutic Exercises

Once you’ve improved to the point where you’re stable and your body is maintaining the improvements, Dr. Brown will provide specific rehabilitative exercises, which he will demonstrate for you. By doing the exercises at home, you can help strengthen and repair the area to hopefully help continue healing faster and stronger. The exercises also help prevent your particular issue from recurring.
